my hands

This is more of a whiny post about myself than anything about Fiona, so feel free to ignore it. The specialists have told us that the best way to keep her healthy is to wash our hands often. I think I wash my hands at least 20 times a day. I also use a lot of hand sanitizer when I run errands. My hands feel like sandpaper. At the end of the day it's hard to straighten my fingers because my skin is so dried out. If any of you have great advice about dry hands please comment. Thanks!

  1. I don't wash my hands as much as you are having to do, but I always try to put lotion on right after I wash or sanitize. I have also heard of putting a good amount of lotion on at night and wearing gloves to bed. I hope you find something to help!

    1. I found some great lotion and I keep some by each sink and one in the car. I can tell a difference when I used it. I'm going to look for some gloves.

  2. I like the kind of hand sanitizer they use at hospitals, it is moisturizing, not drying. Not like the stuff you buy at the store that is just alchohol. With Macie having gone through chemo, keeping clean when we were around her was critical, she carried a bottle of the stuff that that the hospital uses.

    1. I'm going to see if our medical supply company can order hospital hand sanitizer for us. Thanks for the idea.
